Psalm 90:12 – “So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
How do you build a love that lasts a lifetime? There’s no magic formula, no five-step plan. Marriages — the kind that lasts a lifetime — are built one moment at a time. One choice at a time. One day at a time. The little things we do — the time spent laughing, playing, talking and praying together — add up one at a time. And these little decisions shape us and help us navigate the tough times and challenges all marriages face.
How do we make the most of those little moments? Psalm 90:12 offers this prayer: “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
Commit your time to God. Commit the little things to to Him. Ask Him to guide you and your spouse through your daily decisions and challenges. If you make the most of the little moments of life, you and your spouse will find it easier to turn toward each other — and to Him — when the big issues come your way.

Make the most of the little moments and make time for them. Put down your phone to watch a sunset together. Turn off the TV to take a walk together. Set aside time — five minutes to share your day. Share the highs and lows. Ask your spouse about his or her day and then take a moment to pray together.
What “little thing” can you and your spouse take time for today?
